"If there is magic on this planet, it's contained in water."  - Loren Eiseley

Swimming the length of Loch Ness was one of the most difficult swims I’ve ever done. The water was 50°F/10°C — and I swam by by English Channel rules, which means no wetsuit.

The lake is a little over 22 miles long; it took me over 12 hours. The sky was grey. The water looked black. I hoped that I would see Nessie but she never showed up :-)

Loch Ness can seem like an ominous place to swim. But the reality is that it has its own beauty and its own light, and it inspires me to help others through Trust in Education.
